The area

Villa San Lorenzo is an enchanting villa in Tuscany, located in the heart of the Maremma, in a location of great charm very close to numerous historical, cultural, and environmental points of interest.

Among these, the seaside towns certainly stand out, where you can relax on the beach or take a dip in crystal-clear waters.

Here you can rent boats with skipper for excursions to Isola del Giglio or Isola d’Elba.

 

The seaside towns

Castiglione della Pescaia: 22 km away we find one of the most beautiful tourist destinations of the Maremma. Called the ‘Switzerland of the Maremma’ for its high environmental quality. FEE Blue Flag;

Punta Ala: hamlet of Castiglione della Pescaia, 22 km away, offers a 2-km coastline of free beaches with fine golden sand and crystal-clear water. Perfect for those who love a quiet seaside experience;

Roccamare: 27 km away there is a small seaside village located within a large pine forest with maritime and domestic pines;

Argentario: 48 km away there is one of the most beautiful seaside locations in Tuscany, with natural areas, breathtaking beaches, seaside villages, and locations for trekking and mountain biking. Do not miss the hamlets Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole;

Marina di Capalbio: 53 km away a seaside town with a 12-km coastline characterized by an uninterrupted beach. Fine sand and crystal-clear waters;

Cala Violina: about 35 km separate us from one of the most beautiful beaches of the Maremma, with clear sand, crystal-clear sea, and the unspoiled nature of the nature reserve.

The nature locations

Maremma Regional Park: just over 10 km separate us from one of the most interesting destinations in the province: 8,900 hectares, from Principina a Mare to Talamone, with rich flora and fauna, marshy areas, Mediterranean scrub, and the Uccellina Mountains, easily reachable also by bike, on foot, or on horseback across the Bridge over the Ombrone river;

Terme di Saturnia: just over 60 km away there is one of the most renowned locations in the region, with a thermal spring from which water flows at a constant temperature of 37.5°C.

 

The cultural sites

Firenze: 158 km away there is the cradle of the Renaissance with the Uffizi Gallery, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, Piazza del Duomo, Boboli Gardens and Palazzo Pitti, Palazzo Vecchio, Galleria dell’Accademia, Basilica of Santa Maria Novella;

Siena: 85 km separate us from the city of the Palio, with Piazza del Campo, Palazzo Pubblico, Torre del Mangia, the Cathedral, Santa Maria della Scala Museum, Basilica of San Domenico, Rocca Salimbeni;

Monteriggioni: 100 km away we find one of the best-preserved examples of military architecture in the world, with walls that run along a perimeter of 570 meters;

Pitigliano: 75 km separate us from this beautiful village, standing out for its color given by the use of tuff stone. Do not miss Palazzo-Fortezza, the aqueduct, the Fountain of the Sette Cannelli, the Cathedral, the Synagogue;

Massa Marittima: just over 50 km away there is a small village full of points of interest. From the ‘Balestro del Grifalco’ event to Lago dell’Accesa, from Grosseto’s Metalliferous Hills Park to the Orange Flag as a quality tourist destination. Giardino dei Tarocchi: just over 60 km away there is the art park designed by the Franco-American artist Niki de Saint Phalle, populated with statues inspired by the characters of the major arcana of tarot cards.
